Met Office Issues Latest Weather Update for Jammu And Kashmir
In the past 24 hours, the meteorological conditions in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed light to moderate rainfall in most areas, accompanied by light snowfall over some higher reaches. However, the forecast for the upcoming days indicates further fluctuations in weather patterns across the region.
Weather Forecast:
14-15th April: Expect generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and snow in higher reaches anticipated in most places. There’s also a possibility of heavy rainfall, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated locations.
16-17th April: The weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy with light rain and snow in higher reaches forecasted at isolated spots.
18-19th April: Generally cloudy conditions are expected with light rain and snow in higher reaches anticipated in many areas, along with the likelihood of thunder and lightning.
20-24th April: The weather is likely to be generally dry, although isolated thunderstorm activity cannot be ruled out.
Advisory:
- Farmers: It’s advised to suspend farm operations until 16th April to avoid weather-related disruptions.
- Surface Transportation: Temporary disruptions in surface transportation are expected over a few higher reaches during 14th and 15th April.
- Travellers & Tourists: It’s recommended to plan travel accordingly, considering the expected weather conditions.
- Water Logging: Temporary waterlogging may occur in a few low-lying areas.
- Landslides/Mudslides: There’s a possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, so caution is advised.
